Ben Nickless

Support Worker BCom & Chartered Accountant

Ben is one of the founders and directors of Echelon Care and the Accounts and Administration Manager. Ben is also an active support worker.

Ben has worked as a Chartered Accountant for over 20 years with some of Australia’s largest ASX-listed companies, but after founding Echelon Care with Lalie and seeing the difference she and the rest of the team make to people’s lives, was inspired to undertake a career change and begin his Masters of Occupational Therapy.  Ben is excited to join the Echelon Care team as an occupational therapist in 2027.

Ben supports neurodiversity, helping people grow and unlock their potential.  Support work is a great way for Ben to make a difference in the disability sector.  Ben often connects with young kids and teenagers with his support work, from engaging young neurodivergent children with fun play activities to running our regular Minecraft social group “Social XP” with our speech pathologists.

Outside of study and work, Ben loves spending time out and about with Lalie, their two daughters and their Pomeranian fluffball. He’s a long-time gamer and keen runner, hoping to complete his fourth Run4theKids and second half-marathon (and improve his personal best times).
